The Premier League
"The Premier League began its association with Health Partners in 1994 when difficulties in the provision of healthcare arrangements for professional football were becoming apparent.
Over a number of years preceding our association with Health Partners, conventional Private Medical Insurance had become less attractive on a number of levels for the needs of football clubs, the players and the Clubs' clinical staff.
It was necessary to approach the problem from a new perspective and, in conjunction with the Premier League, Health Partners initiated and co-ordinated a two year research and development programme which paved the way for the design and implementation of a football-specific healthcare scheme.
Since the launch of the scheme in 1996, Health Partners has been responsible for the administration, claims management and advice on the Scheme and has demonstrated considerable expertise and professionalism in their work. The number of Clubs participating within the scheme has grown considerably in recent years as more and more Clubs fully appreciate the benefits - financial, clinical and administrative - of participating within the Scheme.
